Cooking Instructions

  1. Boil small potatoes in salted water. Peel potatoes and prink all potatoes with a fork.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a pan and shallow fry all boiled potatoes on medium heat until light brown.
  3. For the gravy grind coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cinnamon, cardamom pod, cloves and cashew nuts in a day powder.
  4. Take 3 tablespoon oil in pan and heat it. Add a pinch of asafoetida, bay leaf, finely chopped onion for approx 2-3 minutes. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for another 30 seconds.
  5. Now add all dry grind mix powder and saute for a minute.
  6. Add beaten curd slowly into the pan and after that turmeric powder and red chili powder and mix well.
  7. Now put fried potatoes, kasuri methi, salt, sugar, and cook for 2 minutes. Then add water and bring it to boil.
  8. Cover the pan and cook until it turn in thick gravy.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  10. Punjabi dum aloo is ready. Serve it hot with roti, naan, kulcha, etc.
